Problems with Iomega External Drive

Recently, I brought back an Iomega 80GB External USB 2 drive to transfer
some data into my G5. I plugged it into the front USB slot but did not get
the "NO NAME" icon on my desktop which is what normally happens when I
plug in an external device into my Mac.

Thinking that it might be a USB problem, I tried the USB slots in the back,
still nothing. Strangely, when I plugged it into the USB on my Keyboard, it finally showed up.

I also did the following things:
plugged in my Nikon camera, my Maxtor 40GB External USB drive into the fron USB just to check, all showed up on my desktop normally, also ran Tech Tool diagnostic and that did not report any problems. Went to the Iomega site to see if there is any drivers I needed specific for my G5 - nothing there.

I gave up and plugged the Iomega into my Powerbook G4 and got the data
out. Both my PB and G5 are running OS X 10.3.3
Has anyone else encountered this problem with their G5?

thanks,
ed
