After some time i have noticed that my Mac OS X (10.1.3 - build 5Q110) loses it's ability to remember ex. Cookies in Internet Explorer, preferences in Illustrator and network! I have to adjust that everytime i have to use an application and/or use the default mail application 
I have never been logged in as root and mess around there. What can be wrong and is the solution to reinstall Mac OS X (i hope not)?!?!
