Can anyone explain the difference mainly what the speed comparison of Risc and Cisc? (I think I got that right)

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to say that a g4 is around what to a intel cpu. This has been something that I know they run differently but I have never understood how to tell what speed they run close to or compaire them when shopping. Thanks.
 
You should read some of these articles from Ars Technica. They're very technical, but if you are too then you'll have no problem understanding it. :)

From my experience, a G4 is roughly twice as powerful as a Pentium III per clock cycle. That is to say G4's running at about half the clock speed as PC's with P3's were about even.
