proxies and antivirus

I'm running a proxy server for a small network of PCs running Windows. The proxy server is an xserve running 10.3.

The xserve is set up and runs correctly, but I would like to know what kind of virus protection I can use to filter worms and viruses before they even get to the windows workstations.

All I know of is Norton and not sure if that is recommended.

what sort of proxy are we talking about - web, mail, ftp, internet connection, or what?
