Hi Folks
I'm a new user trying to to setup an ftp server on 10.3.8 with Pure-ftp. Well I have done that and it all seemed to work. I connected easily from our unix box at work (actually ssh'd to the unix box and ran ftp from there. That session is shown below:
Don :> ftp cut for safety
Connected to cut for safety.
220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
220-Local time is now 10:15. Server port: 21.
220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.

ftp> ls

150 Connecting to port 64598
Applications
donxxx
226 2 matches total
23 bytes received in 0.017 seconds (1.32 Kbytes/s)

However when I try and connect directly from the Mac I get this:
donpaul% ftp cut for safety
Connected to cut for safety.

200 PORT command successful
421 Service not available, remote server timed out. Connection closed
ftp> dir

and I can't do anything. Another mac user found the same thing when I asked them to test the ftp setup.
I'm stuck for ideas at the moment. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
