Q for iPod'ers

As i'm waiting for the update to get an iPod, I have questions for you those of you that already have one:

When the iPod is connected to the computer to get mp3's from the itunes library... Do you have to have all your mp3's located in a certain place? My songs are mostly in one folder but some are in another folder on a different hard drive. Should I move them all to one? Will this be ok to just leave them as is?

OH and some of my files don't have album and artist info. Should I go through and fill all that out so they won't get lost in the iPod?

When I think of more i'll post. I got my tax return check. I can't wait! :p

You don't have to fill in album and artist, but if you know them then why not. As for the files location. I am pretty sure you have to have them organized through the iTunes library system. As far as I know.

You can have the mp3s in different places. So long as iTunes knows where they are, they'll be added to the iPod with no prob. I had mine set up that way for a long while with no trouble.

my Mp3s are everywhere. It doesn't matter where they are, as long as itunes knows where they are you can copy them on to iPod. And i also have some mp3s without tags. They'll go on just fine but may be harder to find. Course that depends on your organizational skills. If you are just gong to be using playlists then there is nothing to worry about.

Giag, allow me to warn you, the iPod will not last forever, one day that thing will burn you and you'll lose your music. Back up, at least...

Voice be quiet! I also have most of my music on my iPod because i feel as if it's safe. So no bad vibes ;)

Voice speaks wisely. Only by backing up may mankind protect itself against the forces of chaos.
The iPod is a cool little player, but it is not immune to fire, theft, or being dropped under a bus.
