Hey all ---- Just hope'in someone has a QUE USB CDRW (usb v.1) I just baught one for 50 bucks for a burner for my B&W G3 with OSX 10.2.2 and OS9 loaded on it, And am curious to know if anyone has any issues with this or is extra software needed for this to work correctly. (toast is included with it ) But I should be able to use the built in OSX burning ablities right ? --- I have not tested this cause I am currently at work and MY gf just called and said it arrived @ home. So when I get home I will be able to crack it open.

Any advice and input would be great

Thank You:)

I also have a USB backpack from micro-solutions.com which is strictly PeeCee(4x4x8 Model), If I take this thing apart ( I am going to assume it is a standard IDE cdrw inside ) and take the drive out, Think this may work for an internel OSX compatiable drive. The goal is to have one USB CDRW drive that is compatiable with PeeCee and mac that I can use on friends / family computers. and the other is just going to sit/maybe sold. if taking the micro-solutions.com apart and using it in the mac will work that'll be awesome. and I can use the QUE for friends.

Thanks

Now why would you want to burn two separate CD's ? If you do Hybrid with Toast, all your friends, no matter what computer you have will be able to view the pictures. If you use a standard jpeg there is no problem.

Not sure what you mean by ---"Now why would you want to burn two separate CD's ?" I have 2 USB CDRW's. I want to USE the QUE ( USB ) model that is PC and Mac compatiable as a drive that I can let my mother use to do a back up on her PeeCee, maybe right after my sister may wanna back her IMAC up. On the other hand the Micro-solution backpack is not Mac compatiable - so there for I am curious if I took this unit apart. and took out the CDRW from the casing .. will it work on a standard IDE channel in a B&W G3 MAC with OSX. It seems that OSX has issues with allot of the USB cdrw drives because of the USB to IDE chipset the case has. Usually (ATAPI-4) --- But if U take out the drive ( there for removing that USB to IDE chip set) Will it work on a standard IDE channel. ? compatiablity with file formats isn't a issue .... just want a CDRW for both PeeCee ( girlfriends ) and My Mac

Ohhhh. Now I understand. First, why don't you just use the Micro-solution with the PC and the Que with the Mac. If you have jaguar installed, there shouldn't be a problem with the USB drive. Also, Toast Ti 5 is OS 9 and OS X and it does support a very long list of drives. When you install toast, it gives support to the drive.
I'd give it a try. The Que on the Mac that is.
