Question about proxy and apache webserver

I recently discovered that i could host my website/ftp server from home via a blue and white
box I had sitting around when I upgraded it to Mac OSX. I currently use my Windows box
for my main internet connection and was planning on upgrading so I have a static IP
that I can host my site at home. My question is would apache on my Mac have any problems
if I routed my main connection though my PC using some kind of proxy software? Or would I be
better of routing the connection via my Mac to my PC?
