Howdy
I know admin will probably move this, but it gets seen more here. I'm having troubles deciding on a Ti 400 or an iBook 600. See my thread over in the Laptop section.

I so need help deciding.

i'm using it for school mainly. I'm getting my bachelors in Multimedia/Web Design. So there will be Adobe products and Macromedia products in use. Also i want to run VPC and play Rollercoaster Tycoon. Of course web surfing too.

The choices are a new 14" iBook, G3, 600Mhz, 20 Gig, 128 Ram(i'd add more), Combo

or

TiBook (used from a friend), G4, 400Mhz, 20 Gig, 528 Ram(something like that), DVD

I would probably get the Titanium G4 if you have the money.

First of all, it has more power then the iBook. Since you are designing web pages and graphics you will be glad for every ounce of power you can get.
Secondly, it has a bigger screen. "Bigger is better" expecially when doing the stuff you are doing.

Of course, it is more expensive than an iBook but with it being used from a friend he may let it go for a lot less than you expect if you just ask. Also, if an AC adaptor does not come with this laptop you may want to purchase one. Don't waste battery juice unless absolutely neccessary.
