Quicktime 7

Quicktime 7 for 10.3.9 does not allow you do anything except opening files. They make you buy the pro version to do even things like Full Screen. I think this is a big ripoff for 10.3.9 users that dont have money for Tiger.

Just my opinion.

 it's the same in tiger... all those are/have/ and will always be pro features.

and if you really want it, just fork over the $30

i love the way QT is the ONLY video program that makes you pay to view in full screen - WMV/realone/everything else, full screen is just an option... it's nothing major

According to the Quicktime page it says "Windows version coming soon.". Not that I really care because windows does not run on any of my machines :p.

Oops. Sorry, didnt know it was like that in Tiger too.

I think the reason that you are now noticing it was because of all the little bubbles screaming PRO at you (which, when you think about it, is a brilliant marketing strategy.)

This isn't a QT7 thing. It's been that way ever since QT4. Only the Pro version has any useful features. Which is utterly absurd. Encoding and conversion is one thing, but full screen mode? Since when is watching movies a "pro" thing?

But there's nothing forcing you to use QuickTime Player. There are plenty of QuickTime players (not the lowercase P) out there that support Full Screen Mode. AFAIK, QT Pro doesn't add anything to QuickTime itself, just to QuickTime Player.
