Quicktime in 7B28

how come im getting no audio? i know my speakers arent busted because when i hit volume up on the keyboard, its making the sound...

I was recently having a problem with .mov files, whereby I'd get about .3 seconds of sound for every 3 seconds of movie. I upgraded to 6.3 and I think that fixed it.

It was really bad because I couldn't listen to Apple's own commercials.

Are you using the latest version of QT?

im running 7B28 with QT Version 6.4a34...it may be that some codecs are incompatable with panther so ill try removing them

Um... I don't think that will help...

Do you know what kind of QT files you are having problems with? .mov, .mpg, .mp4, etc.

It's the QuickTime 6.4 Alpha version that's having problems. Just wait for it to evolve or boot back into Jaguar for clean QT playback... And try VLC, it might help.

yeah vlc has problems with most avi's i try. qt is having problems with everything but mp3

now that im back on spitty27 --- also quicktime embedded files in safari seem to play fine...avi, mpg, mpeg, mov, mp3. BUT safari randomly quits once you get towards the end of the segment.
