Quicktime Message?

I *heart* Mac
Hey guys!

I'm having trouble with a movie I try to open up in QuickTime. When I open the file, I get this message saying:
"Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from QuickTime Components page. [Cancel] [Continue]"
I click [Continue] and it takes me to this page, which is a bunch of downloadable QuickTime Components. I don't know which component to download to fix my problem!

I guess there's one more thing that will probably help resolve this problem... The movie will still play, but without sound!

Also, I am currently running:
QuickTime™ Version 7.2.0, Player Version 7.2 (v7.2)

Thanks to all who help in advance!

What kind of video file is it? In all probability, you want to install Flip4Mac (get it from Microsoft from www.microsoft.com/mac following Windows Media for Mac link there...) for Windows Media files and Perian for anything else. This should take care of things - unless we're talking DRM'd Windows Media files.

No, I already have Flip4Mac installed.

Its 'kind' is an 'avi Movie' and it's 'format' is as follows:
DivX 6.0, 576 x 240, Unknown
'ms ', Stereo, 48.000 kHz

Also, I've noticed that other movies (with working sound) use 'MPEG Layer 3' instead of 'ms '... Does this have anything to do with my problem?

Perian, Perian, Perian. Just get Perian.
And/or VLC as a separate player for everything that doesn't work right with Quicktime.
Hm. "ms" as sound format _does_ sound strange though. But I dunno whether Quicktime can be trusted as info for the soundtrack. Hit VLC with it and look at the streams in the info-panel (command-"i")...
