I have a DVD that I wanna convert into a movie I can import into iTunes, and eventually sync to an iPod Video. Is this possible with quicktime? If so, how? A guy at an apple store told me to use it. Also, how would I do it with Toast? Any other program work? What file size am I looking at?

There's a great piece of software called handbrake that will do this.

Toast won't do it, QuickTime Player won't do it. Handbreak will do it. You're looking at sub-500MB file size. (Probably have to try out a couple of things before getting best results vs. smallest file size...)
