Quicktime seems to lock 10.2.3 occasionally

Hey all,

I have problems with my interface locking up occasionally, always when quicktime is being used. eg, the column view when a quicktime movie is showing, or in internet explorer, when quicktime starts a movie, or even in quicktime in general. This completely locks up the finder interface, and the only fix is to reset the box. It was happening before 10.2.3, and still persists.

I'm a OSX novice, so any suggestions would be helpful.

Dual G4/867, 1.3GB ram, 10.2.3, no os9, one 60, one 40 gb drive.

Have you checked for a Quicktime update?

What version of QT do you have?

To find out, go to the Applications pane, locate QuickTime Player and click on it once. Now go to the file menu and select Show info.
 
It all looks up to date, 6.0.2

I do have other quicktime components installed, such as 3ivx, etc, but it doesn't seem to help to remove them, curious.
