random progress bar left hand corner

I have this random progress bar that pops up in the left hand corner of my screen every 5 to 10 minutes....it acts like its a file transfer or its downloading something but before I can read it it beeps and dissapears! agitating to say the least.... what is that!
 
We need more info than this really, like a screenshot that you take when it appears. If you can be bothered open Applications/Utilities and open the Grab application. Then wait till the bar pops up and when it does hit apple-z to take a screenshot and post it for us here.

Also what machine, specs and operating system are you running on.
 
I only figured the apple-z for all screen was quicker if it is disappearing quickly, that and unlike you gia i never remember the other keyboard shortcuts :)
