iTools actually lets you keep some privacy. Basically what .NET is doing is allowing programmers to tie their products so that much of your information is stored on the internet. iTools is much less invasive, and allows you to do things without signing away your firstborn.

Just my spin on this.

Oh, yeah, one other thing. iTools:Apple::.NET:Microsoft (iTools is to Apple as .NET is to Microsoft). Basically, if we're ever going to migrate to a system like this, I'd REALLY rather have my information stored with Apple than with Microsoft.

What is the difference between iTools and .NET?

They are actually quite different... .NET is more of a "framework" that allows you to build and integrated web applications (web services), whereas iTools is more of an "application" an end result if you will. In this case, iTools is more like .NET My Services.

Well, I've always criticized MS for their integration of .NET-stuff like MSN Messenger and Hotmail, but yesterday i began to think, isn't this kinda what Apple are doing with iTools, just in a smaller scale?
