re-designed ipod/summer

finaly after many a time away from the forums, satanicpoptart has returned.... and i have a big true rumor... there is goin to be a re-designed ipod in summer. the head designer of the box for the new ipod wants to work at my moms school, the university of kansas, she came to apply for the graphics program and i was able to talk to her. she wouldnt say much but i did get the piece of info that it was compleatly re-designed... interesting stuff
 
Does that mean i should hold off on my ipod purchase? Geezzz........ I hate waiting, but i also hate buying something just to have it go down in price, due to a newer version, in the following weeks.

Anyone with more details? i'm looking at buying an iPod as soon as a few days. I'm looking for more info? Anyone? Anyone?

Wow! It just seem too soon to be giving the iPod a redesign... I can imagine a refresh in size, but a redesign in casing? Hmm... I dunno... Weirder things have happened. :)

I would personally love to see interchangeable battery packs.. so I could have one battery pack in a charger and one in the iPod, and when I need to, just swap them out..

other than that, i think it is a great device!!

( still dreaming for my ipod --- I look forward to see a new design, mabey that will be the time to pick up my own!!) :D

Swappable batteries would be nice.

SatanicPoptart: What school does your mom work for? It must be an impressive design school to have someone designed the iPod to be applying there!
 
poptart, I have a hard time beleiving this. Jonathan Ive is Apple's main designer (iMac, iPod, etc.). He would most likely be designing a new ipod. I don't see why he would be looking for a job at your mom's school, since he has a full time job that would take up a lot of time at Apple, and it would be a much better job, and he lives nowhere near there :).

Also why would Apple totally redesign it now? Its perfect as it is.

Maybe it's the box that's getting redesigned? Shame, as I quite like that fold-out design....
