read pdf ???

how can I get my macbook to read out pdf files? I already enabled it, and it works on other types of files.

i guess he means "read out aloud", i.e. speak.

Open the PDF in Preview and use the menu "Edit" to find the option to have your PDF spoken to you. Depending on the layout of the PDF, you'll get good or bad results. Oh, and also: There are PDFs that do not actually contain text, but rather the picture of a text. Those, of course, can't be spoken by the system, since the system doesn't do type recognition.
