Really slow local networking with new G5

I got a new dual 2.0 G5 this week to replace my old dual 1.0 G4. I have a small network in which there is a cable modem, a G4 cube and now the G5 hooked up to a 10/100 Netgear hub. The Cube also shares its internet connection over AirPort for use with my PowerBook.
I never had any problems and the whole setup worked fine with my Dual G4.
Since I installed my G5 the network is reeeeaaaally sloooow. When I connect to the cube to copy files, it only copies about 1MB every 10 secs.

I cannot find any solution on the internet, and its driving me really crazy.

this is a script that increases tcp-buffers on boot. it usually fixes a lot of problems, especially in samba filetransfers it makes a huge improvement.
