I've just bought an external hard disk drive off ebay that needs to be reformatted so that it is OSX friendly. I have a G5 but I am not very technically competent and was hoping someone could walk me through how to do it. Many thanks,
Go to Application->Utility->Disk Utility app, select the external drive on the right side, and then use the Erase tab to format the drive to Mac OS Extended. If you plan to use the drive only with you Mac.
