reinstalling OSX on a used G5 - question

Nice site you have here. I recently bought a G5 used. I am trying to get some older software to run in classic mode and not having much luck. I knew I might be reformatting at some point and so I made sure the seller gave me the original install discs. Well it turns out my G5 is currently running 10.4.11 but the Install Disc he gave me says 10.4.6 on it. Also he didn't know which version of iLife was correct so he gave me both '05 and '06. These are all original apple discs. Any idea if I am going to be able to wipe this drive and re-install 10.4 at all?

Also it just occured to me....is 10.4.11 before or after 10.4.6? I am sorry if these are basic questions but I read online that you need the disk for "that machine" so I wasn't sure if it means that chipset or your actual machine that you own. Thanks in advance.

10.4.11 (ten.four.eleven), and yes it did cause some confusion, was the last point update for OS X 10.4.

You should have no problem doing a clean install with your 10.4.6 disc, then updating to 10.4.11.
I would go to the apple download site and grab the PPC version of 10.4.11 combo, this will save a bit of hassle with the update process.
