release of carbonlib 1.5

ok, there isn't any 9.2.2 or before forum yet so i figure i'm inbounds posting here. www.macupdate.com has a new release of carbonlib 1.5. It doesn't show up on software update or on apple's own recent updates page. it wouldn't install in classic so i booted in 9 and installed. from there it would not allow me to boot in either 9 or x. so i went and replaced it by booting from disc and copying a 1.4 back and rebooting. all appears normal again.

so does anybody know anything about this update? requirement was os 8.6 or higher.

i would advise anybody else to avoid this until we know more particuars. btw - a search of apple support for carbonlib found nothing - not one file.

one other thing - get info shows it as an apple ext. but it does not give a system id along with the version id the way 1.4 does. it also downloaded as an .smi and launched like an img in osx.

It showed up on versiontracker.com silly! It's a true Apple update, rest assured. Apple does have the tendency to release documentation AFTER the software is released, but I've installed it and seen no adverse side effects yet.
