Hi all
I'm gradually getting myself into the (fullscreen) Xfree86 world on my Mac - I've installed XDarwin, WindowMaker and a few apps.
However, the two apps that would really put me into warp drive would be a browser and an IRC chat client. I've been recommended Mozilla and xchat, but the former just crashes on my system, and I've tried to install xchat via fink, but can't locate the binary (I get an xchat-text file, but nothing else).
So - any suggestions would be welcome.
Is there another reliable Darwin-safe browser out there? (preferably binaries, but I can live with source code). Does anyone have the same xchat experience, and if so, what's the solution?
Finally, is there any stability gain to running fullscreen X in console mode?
For info, I'm running xfree86 4.3.0 (and the latest ported WindowMaker) on a 400MHz TiBook, running X in fullscreen from the terminal.
Many thanks
Matt
