Remapping CMD+N (New window) to New Folder

Any safe ways to remap the 'Make new Window' command (CMD+N) back to 'Make new folder'?

I've tired of Apple's rented NeXT geeks telling me that they know better than 18 years of R&D.
I want my CMD+N to make a new folder like it should do; about the only thing I miss from OS9. It was logical (We make far more new folders than open new finder windows - where CMD+SHIFT+N would have been suitable). Instead we have to use a 3-key command for a simple, commonly used action.

There is an app called HotApp that I have found, but before I use it, or any other, I would appreciate other's feedback on the issue.

this sounds like the situation I'm having with creating a new Finder window at the current path when I envoke the shortcut key...

possibly not enough hacks into the Finder me thinks... I've gotten used to the shift-cmd-N for making a new folder... but I'm starting to think that Apple should follow Burger King's lead: have it your way...

(or hack it your way?)

What is hotapp and what does it do?

HotApp is an app that does many things, including remapping keys. I have not experimented with it yet, as it sounds rather powerful; if there is another way around (which I suspect there is not), I'd like to find it.
Looks like I may have to take my chances and just be careful what I do.

Well, I nominate you to be the first to boldly go where no man has gone b4...

when you get back, please let us know how it goes...

please don't forget the pie.

:p
