I'm working on Workgroup Manager
running on Mac OS X Tiger
to connect through it to a remote ldap server
running on SunOS 5.9. (It's NOT LDAPv3/127.0.01.)
At first,
I created a configuration of the remote ldap server
in LDAPv3 using Directory Access
as LDAPv3/ldap.our-domain.jp.
Then,
I connected to the remote ldap server
via Workgroup Manager of the configuration.
But,
Workgroup Manager showed something like
"Not authenticated to directory: ldap.our-domain.jp".
So,
I clicked the key located at the right-up corner
in the window of Workgroup Manager
to be authenticated.
Finally,
Workgroup Manager showed
"Authenticated as yamamot3 to directory:
ldap.our-domain.jp",
where "yamamot3" is a username.
But,
I couldn't make any changes of yamamot3's attributes,
for example GCOS,
whose actions are permitted by the remote ldap server.
Please tell me why I couldn't do that if you know.
Best regards,
Masaki
