Removing A Partition?

I partitioned my hard drive for BootCamp but now I would like to delete that partition and get that free space back. How does one go about this? I went into Disk Util but it won't let me erase.

Thank you for the help

Erase is something different from delete. Try removing (and recreate) the partition of reformatting the partition with a different File Format (e.g. hfs+).

That might work.

Good luck, Kees

Open Boot Camp Assistant. (Applications/Utilities if I remember correct). It is possible to get rid of Boot Camp and the space its partition wastes with it.

So I can't get rid of the partition itself and rejoin it with my harddrive?

That was not what i said. Only that erase has a different function (remove everything from an existing partition, while keeping the partition settings intact).

If you select the drive, you get the option 'partition'. This is normally used to change the partition settings. If you do not see the partitions on the drive. How to handle hidden / locked partitions I do not know, never encountered it before. Maybe a setting in diskutil allows you to unhide / unlock them.

The boot drive can not be changed, so make sure you did boot from the cd.

Good luck, Kees
