i was just wondering since im getting a powerbook g4, i wanna ask if a normal wireless-g router such as a linksys one would support or let rendezvous run on it...

i read the profile for airport extreme base stations and it says "supports rendezvous". that led me to think that a normal non-apple one would be incompatible. or is the only requirement that the computers be in range of the router...

so i wanna ask, if i want rendezvous running do i require the APPLE base station? thanks
 
You shouldnt. Rendezvous is just apples implementation of zeroconf, an open system built on standards to allow services to automatically discover each other. There may be some ports you need to open, im not sure.
