res problem -- but not with osx

hey,
ok this has nothing to do with OSX.

But i need some help with my RedHat 8!

it so happens that i or someone must have switched the display to a higher res

the max my monitor can take is 1024x768

so now whenever the xwindow system starts i see nothing.

how do i swith back to the previous resolution?

Try hitting ctrl alt - or ctrl alt +. Xfree86 toggles its various resolutions with those keystrokes. Or you could ssh into your box and change the settings the /etc/X11/XF86Config file so that it will not ever attempt to go into such a high resolution in the future.
