I noticed two important differences between Mac OS X installed from scratch on my iBook (and updated to the most recent version tru system update) and Mac OS X restored on setup on my G4.
First thing is that if I change something in the system preference pane e.g. a simple thing as desktop picture, on the iBook the desktop picture changes nearly immediately whereas on the G4 I need to log out and in again to see the change.
The second thing is Classic stability. It's significantly less stable on the G4. Sometimes the menubar becomes blank when I start the classic environment, then I have to force quit it to be able to work further in other Carbon/Caccoa apps.
I wonder if this is a Restore Mac OS X <-> (Full) Install related problem? And if so, is there a way not having to re-install everything (maybe I should wait for Jaguar?)?
