I have an ADSL modem/router plugged into a 5 port switch. 3 computers are plugged into the switch and all automatically recognise the internet connection and use it. I need all the machines on ethernet for file transfers etc.
The router has a rather basic firewall which cannot be switched off, but it does have a DMZ that can be assigned to a single IP, which i have opened and assigned to my main mac.
I would rather run a really good software firewall on that one machine and then share that machines internet connection with the other machines. I know how to share the connection, but how can I force the other machines to use that shared connection rather than automatically go to the router - and do this WITHOUT removing them from the ethernet.
All help much appreciated - its been doing my head in!
