Hullo, I just did what probably many of us have done at some point, and inadvertently deleted some important stuff. I don't have another computer but I do have another drive so this is what I tried to do: I downloaded and installed a recovery program onto the external drive, then I booted up from my installation cd. Then I tried to run the recovery app from Terminal, but... there doesn't seem to be any way to do it
Many of the commands are missing. Anybody have any pointers? Is it even possible to run apps other than the provided utilities from the intallation cd? Thanks

Edit: I should have added that I'm running the latest version/update of OS X on an Intel Mac (MacBook Pro).
Edit: Haha, in case anyone wonders how I'm still using the computer if I don't have another one (and obviously I wouldn't want to because apparently it increases the chances of not recovering data), I'm on the Windows side of my BootCamped-out computer.
