...my bookmarks, and settings. What happened? It crashed before but i never lost anything. I know this data is still there, but it refuses to load. What can i do?

Um, is there any way you can import this data? Try moving the preference files in which this stuff is stored to another directory and then try importing them from within Safari. Then you'll have a nice backup. Other than that, you're probably stuck.

I had to pull the bookmarks from a backup disc i frequently update, not sure how, but Safari reverted back to default, everything was gone.

it seems that Safari is crashing alot in the latest beta version. It is getting annoying...other than that, I still like it

Hmm, I haven't had Safari crash on me at all.

The bookmarks and stuff are in the Library/Safari folder in your home folder....but if you quit Safari after that happened with it, those files may have been overwritten.

Or maybe they were corrupted in some way when Safari crashed. If it happened at just the wrong moment, right when Safari was writing out data to 'em, then they would have been. That's a big if, but it could have happened.

I think thats what happened then, because it wouldn't even launch, it would constantly crash, all other apps were fine. I restarted, and dragged a backup from last week into that folder.

I notice safari tends to crash on certain flash sites, especially if you leave one in a tab.

Also: There were no bookmarks after it crashed 3 or 4 times, just a empty menu, then it crashed, opened it again, all new default. But the original prefs and settings were still there.

I still have Safari v51 on my unconnected iMac. Hehe, I see no reason to upgrade.
