Safari, javascript and flash

does anyone have info about tricks to get javascripts and flash working in Safari?
I know a lot of sites where javascripts and flash do work in other browsers but not in safari

You could look at www.alistapart.com for standards compliance (since, this is more than likely the reason certain javascript code and Flash doesn't work in Safari).

I too am having problems running javascripts on the page we are developing, is there a fix for this (other than a JVM update which requires 10.3)??
