Safari Keychains

Whenever I'm using Safari, I get (very often!) the pop-up asking for a password to access my Keychain. I would be HAPPY to provide this, but there is a mixup in who Safari thinks I am and who I 'really' am when I log in to my computer; in other words the name it pops up is NOT my log in name. and it doesn't like it when I change that and give it my real log in name and password. Is there any way I can fix this or do I have to rely on my system administrator (I'm at a University) because he doesn't understand what's going on either. Thanks!

Try either, deleting your Safari folder in ~/Library/ where ~ is your home dir, or backup data & re-create your account.

Thanks for your reply, but if I delete that folder, won't I simply lose Safari? My apologies if that's a ridiculous thing to ask. I guess the kind of help I was hoping for would explain how I might go about reconciling my log-in name with my user name. For example, let's say my log in name is TraciX, and my User name (in Traci's HD/Users/) is traci1. Safari's Keychain wants a password for traci1, but I don't think that even has a password. Does anyone have any advice about all this? Thanks a bunch.

Uh.. Your log in name isnt the same as your user name? wtf? sounds like you're using a different keychain than the one in your account.
