Any suggestions why Safari takes a long long time closing after browsing . Sometimes as long as five minutes .
I run Jaguar on a I-mac 400 dvd with 512 megs of ram .

i have almost the same mac and i never experience that problem. i suggest you

1) repair your permissions in disk utility
2) check your preferences in safari - eliminate cacheing if you have broadband
3) run a good disk repair program like diskwarrior
4) let us know if none of those help.

be sure to check for improvement after each one.

Repairing the Permissions has improved the performance . I'll also turn off the Cache since I use Cable Broadband . I'll let you know if that still improves the speed of closure .
