I have a Samsung ML-2251N printer connected to my PCs and a Macmini via a home network. It all worked great for the last 6 months, including yesterday. Today the printer couldn't see the PCs (after a pwr failure) and Samsung techs had me change the printer IP address to 192.168.1.150 (it was 192.168.1.116)
Now the PCs can print, but the Mac can't. Samsung Tier II Support says they don't support this printer and I was just "lucky" that it's been working for 6mos. with the Mac. There is no driver listed for the 2251N, but somehow it worked before. I did change the Mac to the new IP, but that didn't help.
When I print a doc. using the "generic drivers" the Mac prints one line that says "%!PS-Adobe-3.0 / %APL_DSC_Encoding; UTF8 / " etc and then endlessly spits out blank pages.
I have NOT updated software or hardware in the last 10 days.
Any ideas?
Please keep them simple, I am a helpless novice with the Mac.
Thanks,
Don
ps-
When I first got the printer I plugged it into the network router and I was pleased that the Mac found it and configured itself; I did nothing. Not so with the PCs... I had to fiddle with them and manually enter the IP, etc. If the Mac was smart enough to find and work with the printer the first time, why can't it do so now?
