I created a PDF form using LibreOffice. I cannot save the filled in form or print it. Is there a workaround? Using LO 3.3.4 on a Macintosh
Obviously, I don't have your document and I don't have
LibreOffice. However, do have numerous other PDF files and I have
LibreOffice's Java-based sibling,
NeoOffice. My comments are most relevant to
NeoOffice, but I am certain that they relate accurately to your situation because I have seen a significant difference among the various forks of
OpenOffice.org. A PDF opened in
NetOffice is treated as a drawing. It can be edited as any other drawing. This includes completing forms. Like any other
OpenOffice.org document, it is printed using the standard MacOS X printing facilities. Revised PDF files can be exported as PDF. The exported PDF file retains that data that was used to complete the file.
Go back and reexamine your printer setup and what you think you are doing to save the edited PDF. When you get these straightened-out, I think that you will find things working "properly." I put "properly" in quotes because
OfficeOffice.org siblings are blunt instruments for PDF edits. In my own quick test here,
NeoOffice lost a significant amount to formatting in a PDF that was largely a table with some text. Quite frankly, I really don't expect any better from a PDF being edited using a non-Adobe application. For completing forms and saving the edited PDF,
Acrobat Pro is immeasurably better.
