Hello
I feel like complete dolt
cant seem to record/save folders on desktop on to cd as a backup - what is the procedure? have tried dropping stuff onto a blank cd, then it appears to record/save data on to cd but when I reintroduce said cd Mac says there is nothing on it! (after having told me previously that there is no more space on cd!)
Have osx 2.8
Shortly upgrading to OSX Tiger, am I mad?
want to save everything that I can before making transition
Thankyou for help

You're halfway there, but you still need to burn the CD. Here's the procedure.
- Put blank CD in. It should appear on the desktop.
- Name it if you wish.
- Drag in whatever files you want saved to the CD.
- Select the CD and click File -> Burn. You can also do this by dragging the CD to the trash, which will magically change into a "Burn" icon. Or, by right clicking and choosing "Burn"
- The files will now be burnt to the disc.

I'd say go for it. Tiger is a great OS and far superior to 10.2.8 in its user interface features. Just backup all your important stuff first, though.
