Scanners & OS X Support

Okay, I have (2) scanners and non of them are supported or will ever be supported on OS X.

Does anyone have a list of scanners and models which are CURRENTLY supported by their manufacturer to work with Mac OS X? Without using any shareware or thirdparty software (ie Vuescan).

Thanks,

ADMIN

I came to this forum to post exactly this question. I have a umax scanner with scsi connection, and no os x support. Most scanners that I have found out there now are either cheap but usb and only go to 9.x, or one or two grand, which is way out of my range.
So I'm not really answering your post, but adding to it.

I Don't have a list, but the HP 3500 / 3570, as well as the Epson Perfection scanners do (the epson osx drivers were just released on versiontracker the other day).....I'll be exchanging my hp3500 for the epson this weekend.

This is because the hp scanner's software, runs a prog in the background that constantly looks for someone to push the front buttons; and this takes up 20-75% of my cpu usage!

Thanks no. I'll stick to running the software in classic....I've learned my lesson.

My Epson Pefection Photo 1240U Photo Scanner has been working fine for me for months now.
I'd imagine newer versions of this scanner would work just as good. :)

I have a Canon LiDE 30 that I just bought. It said that is was OS X compatible only if you had Photoshop but I found newer drivers on their website and was able to get it working in OS X without Photoshop. It works great although once you turn the dpi up the scanner can go pretty slow for scanning one thing.
