Scanning

Having a problem getting good results with pics my of my Grand Daughter.
Scanned them on an Epson Perfection 610. Try to print out and the quality is bad. Only happens when my Daughter gets pics taken at this one place and I try scanning them. Other pics, from anywhere, camera or photographer, scan and print fine.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

How's it bad? Color, too light, too dark, fuzzy, etc.

That one place isn't using some kind of anti glare junk or other 'special' stuff like that are they?

can you adjust the color balance, depth, contrast while you scan? Interesting though..

she's big.. yiks. i remember when i saw the pics when she was really small ...

I tried adjusting all that and didn't seem to make much difference.

She was a year old Feb 24th.

is it a problem of resolution ? The resolution of the printed image may interfere with the scan resolution. Can you try to rotate the pics before scanning (and rotate back after) ?

or maybe the original picture had its colors "enhanced"... and it looks bad when it is scanned because the dynamic is too large for the scanner.

I don't know what the problem is. I was thinking whatever format, resolution, the photog used prevents good scanning.

I'll have to get the originals back and try scanning again, rotating the pic if that's what you mean.

yes, by rotating the pict, its horizontal and vertical pitch will be modified therefore is there was an interference with the scanner pitch, it should disappear.
