screen trouble

can i just ask if anyone else has this problem. I have a powerbook G4 and every now and then on start up the whole screen goes mental and the curser changes to a square block and the screen image breaks up into fragments. I sometimes have to start up up to 5 times before it goes back to normal.

Sounds like you're having issues with the video connection to the LCD display. See if you can take it in to the Apple Store and have one of the Apple people check it out.
