SCSI Hard Drive not recognized

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my Power Computing 180. I have loaded OS 9 on the original 2 gig hard drive but I would like to upgrade to a 9 gig hard drive I bought on eBay.

I have installed the drive with the hope of dropping everything onto it from the smaller drive, but the computer does not recognize the new drive.

I have it set up for SCSI ID # 2. If you look in the profiler the drive is there but a caution symbol says no mounted media installed.

Do I need a driver? I cannot seem to find any driver for this drive online.

Can anyone help?

Thanks, Mark

It doesn't need a driver, per se, Mark. It does need to
be formatted (initialized). You can try Drive Setup (in
your Utilities folder), but Apple's app is notorious for
ignoring thrid-party drives. A tad snobbish, yes?

LaCie used to pass out SilverLining, an excellent HD
utility that works with most (Don't you hate that word?)
third-party HDs. I have a copy somewhere that I could
e-mail to you, if you'd like. It fits on a floppy, so I expect
it'll go as an SEA attachment. PM me your address.
