Greetings,
We recently purchased a Seagate 500GB FreeAgent Pro external hard drive and have noticed that when we turn on the iMac, this drive does not automatically mount, unlike our Westernl Digital MyBook external drive.
Right now, the only way to get it to mount is to pull the power cord out of it and plug the power cord back in. There has to be a more elegant way to do this. Any hints?
By the way, the Seagate drive does have an engraved 0/1 symbol which suggests there is a power button there, but presssing this area does not seem to accomplish anything.
We have the drive plugged directly into the back of the iMac, not piggybacked onto the Western Digital.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alra111
