Purveyor of Thought...
I am searching for an answer. For several years I have used TextExpander to auto log me into several sites that use both Username and password
most notably my bank and also FaceBook, PennyTalk and a few others. Recently I upgraded to OS X 10.7.3 and had some issues with Safari that I needed Apple's help to fix. I am happy that they got me up and running again. The problem I will describe is this: using TextExpander I created a snippet that would, upon execution, insert my username, then tab to the password field, insert my password and then execute a return key function thus taking me to my desired page.
During the course of getting Safari fixed, it was necessary for me to use another browser, first Chrome and then Firefox. It was after having used these browsers that I noticed that TextExpander would execute up to the point of entering the 'Return' function (if I hit the 'Return/Enter' key manually it works fine) but that was never before required.
Research has shown me that both Chrome and Firefox are notorious for setting the 'Secure Input' state but that they don't necessarily turn it back off when you leave the application
Is there any way to use either Terminal or some other means to toggle this state that is defeating my snippet???
Please reply by email if you can help me
