hi
for 2 problems i'm having i need one solutions.
these problems both have to do with the fact that the graphics card isn't detecting the correct supported resolutions from the display, and therefore doesn't show the resolution i need in the display-preferences.
the most urgent problem has to do with a panasonic-projector (PT-DW7000U) that has a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which is an aspect-ratio of 16:9.
hooked-up to a quad g5 using a dvi-vga adapter, this native resolution doesn't show-up. this causes major problems, and means a serious disaster if it turns-out we can't use this propjector.. because it's pretty expensive.
the other problem is described here:
http://macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272498
http://macosx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=269167
for both situations i wonder if it's possible to bypass the systems' defaults or configure something in open firmware or something, so as to force the hardware to at least try the resolutions i want, instead of being limited to what the hardware thinks is best.
and where are these configurations stored anyway?
any help would be very much appreciated!
