Setting Customized Preferences For Ad Users Logging Into Mac Clients

Hi Guys,
I have AD users logging into to 10.4.2 clients. The clients are bound to my win2003 AD server using the AD plugin, but not connected to Mac OS X server. Am looking for a way that when the AD users log in they can get custom preferences (like dock, app, finder prefs). Now, I'm trying to figure out how to do it .I want to assign the AD users "Mac-specific" preferences. Is this possible?

Here is the situation... The AD user logs in and is authenticated directly to the AD server. He is then assigned a local home directory on the client (which I want), BUT he is assigned preferences based on the local default user account on the client. I want to be able to assign user/mac specific preferences to the users.
How do i go about them?
Please kindly help and teach me the steps i should follow to do it.
