Setting up OS X for kids

I'm trying to set up OS X for my son and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any ways to "child proof" OS X. I would like to prevent him from deleting or moving files and that sort of thing.

I've removed the HD from the desktop and left only things he's supposed to use in the dock. But... he's only 4 and might do something he's not supposed to without even knowing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

just modify all the permissions to stuff you dont want him getting at.

to do this... select the item(s) you'd like to modify the priviledges to and Get Info on them...

then select the menu item that reads "General Information"....

you'll see an option for Privilieges. select it.

If you are the owner of the folder or item (which you should be since you are the admin) you can modify who can read and write to those files or items using the menus that are present.
