Setup SSH

Apparently, my initial message didn't make it on the forum, so here it is:

I am wondering if I did everything I need to do in order to enable ssh. On my desktop Mac at home I opened sharing and checked Remote Login. I then forwarded the ssh port to this desktop Mac using the Airport Admin Utility since I have an Airport Express (AXP) doing DHCP and NAT. I assume, that when I am away from home using my iBook, I can open terminal and type "ssh username@MYIPADDRESS" and my AXP will route me to my desktop Mac. Does this sound correct?

Also, how do I configure my POP email account to get my mail over the SSH connection when I open Mail?

Sounds like you're doing exactly the right thing.

I'm not sure I understand your POP mail question? What are you trying to get to and from where?

For the mail, I want to ssh from my iBook remotely, connect to my PowerMac G5 at home and then open Mail on my iBook. When I do this, I need Mail on the iBook configured to get my email through the PowerMac G5.

I heard about this on Podcast #15 of Security Now! I don't quite understand what they were doing, but they said it requires that I do NOT use port 110 to connect to my ISP's remote POP server and instead, I have to set up an SSH Tunnel inside my PowerMac G5 to connect to the local host 127.0.0.1 or something like that. Does anyone have good instructions on setting this up?

I found a program called SSH Tunnel Manager at http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/ but unfortunately, I have no idea what to put where in the GUI to handle my email.

If anyone checks out this small program and can tell me what to put where for incoming and outgoing email, then please let me know. This looks like a nice tool.
