(sh: /etc/profile: is a directory)

I have a powerbook g4 and i was starting it. On the login window it had this:
(sh: /etc/profile: is a directory)
sh-2.05a#

Then i try to put a cd to install it agian it didnt work and then i had to click the eject button like for 15 min.


HELP!!!!!!!! HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Hi
If you want to re-install the system, hold down C key at boot to startup from CD. Or you could hold down option key, this will scan for all boot volumes and you can choose which one.
