My iMac is connected to the internet over Ethernet. It also has a Bluetooth connection (dongle). I've a portable PC (from Work) which is Bluetooth equipped. Can I use the Mac to share the internet connection over Bluetooth ?

Not 'out of the box', no. Bluetooth is not a networking protocol.

Someone could probably write a utility for it, but I'm not aware of one.

One thing I have heard about Bluetooth is that it's range is relatively short. I think it's original intent was to be a sort of 'wireless interface cable'.

Some details: With bluetooth you can get 4-5kb/sec. Really not suitable for lan and Co. But for ppl using dialups it should be just fine. As for the range:
I can use my handy in a zone of more than 20m INSIDE of the building. Using an msi bt2usb and SE t610. I wouldn'T really call it short range. It's perfect for peripheries.
Eventhough there are bt printers, I think this is almost the worst concept. Transfering print-data is pretty heavy and too much for bt. Anyone ever tried this?
